Tell me more about Love the Life Ltd.

Love the Life Ltd is a family run business based in Derbyshire, England.

We give you a way to capture, organise and keep memories and celebrate the milestones of life and share them with your friends and family now and in the future, no matter where they are in the world

We use the power of the internet to enable you to build your family websites. The use of words, pictures, film and music on an interactive website can touch the emotions in a way that no other medium can.

You don’t need IT skills, just a PC, access to the internet and a way of creating digital images (such as a digital camera, camcorder or scanner). The process of creating your celebration website is simple, the hard part has been taken out by careful design of the Love the Life software.

Tell me more About Love the Life - Baby

Lovethelife-baby.com is a place where you can create and organise a living, virtual family album. Where you can record key events from pregnancy all the way through babies first year and share them with friends and family.

When you create your baby website you will get;

An area dedicated to the mum-to-be where you can keep a record of your pregnancy, include photographs of you and your bump, or the latest scans, keep a diary and access useful information.

A choice of themes, backgrounds, styles. So that you can give your site a customised feel.

40MB of space which would give you up to 100 photographs to be run as a slide show or a mix of video footage and photographs. The choice is yours.

You can record the time of birth, who were the delivery team and who came to visit in hospital. What was your baby like when they were born, their eye colour, hair, weight and features. Also, what was the world like when baby was born? What was number one in the charts, the number one film who were the stars of the day and what were the major news items.

You can create a time-line of your pregnancy and baby’s first year. Record key milestones such as the birth, first hours, arrival at home, first bath, first tooth, first steps, first friends, first full nights sleep, first solid meal, first birthday, first Christmas and many more.

You can develop the site and change it as and when you want. You don’t need technical knowledge, you can build a web-site without training or help. But help and technical assistance is only a phone-call away.

All in all you will create your baby website that reflects what you want to say about one of the happiest and most exciting periods of your life. You can make the website open to everyone or just to family and friends. The site will be available from anywhere in the world so friends and family in other countries can keep up to date.

At the end of baby’s first year you can obtain a Celebration CD memento of everything that was on the site. If you are a monthly subscriber and have completed 12 months membership, the CD will be free of charge. It will also be free to people who buy the fantastic Toddler site. Other customers can buy their CD for a small charge £11.99 including postage and packing.

Registering

Why do you need my e-mail address?

We need your e-mail address to allow us to process your registration and process any orders you may make. The relevant information is then used by us, our agents and sub-contractors to provide you with statements of your account (if you are paying by monthly subscription) and to communicate with you on any matter relating to the provision of our services.

We may also wish to provide you with information about special features of our website or any other service or products we think may be of interest to you. If you would rather not receive this information, you can indicate this by ticking the relevant box on the home page.



How do I get started with a Love the Life gift pack?

There are two ways to buy Love the Life gift packs, either on line or as a greeting card purchased from selected retailers (click this link to see retailers that stock our products).

When buying on line all you have to do is fill in the It’s a Gift part of the registration form including the e-mail address of the person receiving the gift. A Love the Life e-gift card will then be sent to them. The e-gift card will contain a personal message from you and everything needed to activate a new Love the Life - Baby website. There is of course no extra charge for this service and as well as a great gift you will also be sending a personalised greeting card.

How long will my site be active?

If you buy a site with a single payment it will be active for one year. This includes baby sites and mum to be sites.

If you pay by monthly direct debit then provided your payments are up to date then your site will remain active.

Can I keep the site for longer than a year?

Provided that you pay for another year or keep paying monthly subscriptions then the site will stay active. However, we believe that as your child grows it would be better to buy a toddler site which provides more features and interactive activities for him or her to enjoy as well as to develop their IT skills. You can then order your memento CD of the baby site.

How do I convert from a mum to be site to a baby site?

Your mum to be site will stay active for one year after purchase . When your baby is born you simply buy your baby website in the same way that you bought your mum to be site. The two will run side by side, and you can obtain your memento CD of the mum to be site when the 12 months is completed.

I want a toddler site after the baby site, can I do this.

Of course you can. Simply convert to a toddler site after your babies first year.

Technical

Is there any technical help?

Love the Life websites are designed to be easy to use. The How do I features of the site give you advice on how to load photographs and add text. If you are still experiencing problems then you can contact our help line on helpme@lovethelife.co.uk.

What if I don’t have a digital camera?

Digital cameras are the most effective way of transferring images onto your site but there are other ways. You can create electronic versions of your photographs using a scanner, on-line photo service, photo kiosk or having a CD created.

A scanner is a relatively inexpensive way of creating digital images of standard photographic prints and negatives. You can also go to an on-line photo service which will take your prints and place your pictures on-line and provide a CD of them. A photo kiosk allows you to create digital copies on CD of any prints or negatives. Finally many film processing companies now offer the service of providing digital images on CD from standard prints and negatives.

Can I use a scanner?

Yes this is an ideal way of creating digital images from standard prints. Simply scan your photograph using a flat bed scanner and edit them using the picture processing software that is usually provided with the scanner or with your PC.

How do I add pictures and video

Once you have created your account, you will be given options of adding photographs, video or audio clips at various points on the site such as the media gallery, your home page, journal etc. You simply browse the photographs, video and audio on your computer, highlight and click to add to your site. You can then add captions and other text.

How do I add music?

At this stage we do not support the addition of copyrighted music to Love the Life sites.

How do I edit the site?

Once you have created an account you can log-in using your e-mail address and password. You will then have administrator rights to update any of the sites that you have created. You simply sign in as administrator and make the changes you want.

Do I need Broadband?

No you can create a superb site with standard internet connection. However Broadband gives you the benefit of speed and the ability to view larger files such as video footage.

Can I print pages from my site?

Yes you can print individual pages in the normal way.

Can I carry some content over from the baby to a toddler site? How?

As administrator you can copy and paste photographs and text from one site into the other.

I haven’t used all the pages available on the site, will they still show up?

Yes, but only as an attractive template page in the style that you have selected for the rest of your site.

How do I turn off unwanted parts of the site?

You can’t. If they do not have any content they will appear as empty pages in the style that you have chosen for the rest of your site.

Sharing

How can I let other people know about my site?

When you register and create a new baby site, you will be given a unique address for the site.

You have a number of options, you can give this address to people that you want to view the site. If your site is a private site they will also need the password that will be sent separately to them. People can also visit the LovetheLife-baby.com home page and search by name for the site, again a password will be required if it is a private site.

Can I share only part of my site?

Celebration CD

How much is a celebration CD?

If you are a monthly subscriber all you pay is postage and packing, your celebration CD is free of charge provided that you complete a full twelve months subscription. Postage and packing is £2.50 for the UK and £5.25 for all other countries.

All other UK customers pay £11.50 including postage and packing. Overseas customers pay £14.25.

When can I get my CD?

You can buy a CD at any time that your site is active or within 3 months of your site finishing by paying £11.50 or free of charge, (plus postage and packing) if you are a qualifying subscriber.

What will be on my CD?

Your CD will contain everything that is on your website at the time of order. It will not contain any content that has been deleted.

What are the terms and conditions of purchase?

You can read our terms and conditions by visiting link on the home page.

Can I withdraw the website at any time?

Yes if you wish to cancel your subscription or withdraw your site please let us know by e-mailing us on helpme@lovethelife.co.uk. We will undertake to cancel and withdraw your site within 48 hours of receipt of this e-mail.

If you have an urgent need to cancel the website please make this clear on your e-mail and include your telephone number and we will contact you by phone to discuss your problem.

Content

How long does it take to get started?

You can be started in minutes. It will take around five minutes to register and make your payment and you can begin populating your site immediately.

How many pictures and videos can I add?

You will have 40MB of space which can be used in any combination of photographs and videos. For example if you were only to add photographs you could put approximately 80 on your site. If you were to mix video and photographs you could put 40 photographs and 5 videos. The choice is yours.

Can I add to the website at any time?

Yes it is totally within your control.

Can I remove content from the message boards?

Yes the content on the message boards is in your control. If there is something you wish to remove then you can.

Can I have a copy of my site when my subscription finishes?

Yes you can obtain a celebration CD containing the content of your website. Details of this can be obtained from following link on the home page.

I don’t want other people to add to my site, can I stop them?

You have control over the content of your site. You can give access as read only to friends and family and the only area where they could add to the site is the message board. You have total control over this and can remove any content that you are not happy with.

Security

How secure will my site be?

If you choose to make your site private then it will be very secure. Only those people that have permission from you along with the address of your site and password for the site can view it.

How secure will my personal details be?

Love the Life Ltd only have access to your e-mail address, name and registration details. We do not have access to any credit card, banking or other financial information. This is managed by Netbanx and Streamline.

Who can see my site?

You have the choice to make the site open to anyone who can access the internet or to limit access to people that you choose. These people will then be able to visit your site using a security code. With the exception of the message boards they will not be able to add to or change the site.

Who can add to my website?

Only you as the site administrator can add to the site. Other people can add to the message board.

What if I forget my password?

If you forget your password contact us by e-mail on helpme@lovethelife.co.uk.

Who administers the site?

The site is administered by the Love the Life team along with MediaMaker Ltd.

Who hosts the site?

The site is hosted by MediaMaker.

Can I change my password?

Yes in the administrator area.

What happens to the content on my site once it has finished?

Your site will become dormant. Content is held on archive files for a period of time but not on the internet and not available for public viewing. This is not a guarantee that we will keep your data and be able to resurrect it for you in any format.

Gift Websites

I would like to buy a gift for a friend, how does it work?

You can easily buy a lovethelife-baby website for a friend or relative. Simply register and enter your credit card details and click on the "it’s a gift" button. You will then be asked for details of the person receiving the gift. You will need their e-mail address and we will then send them an e-greetings card with everything they need to start their new website.

I can't enter or view my site

Remember, the e-mail address and password that you provided at the point of registration are used to enter the site for administration an to add and remove content. The pass code that was sent to you after registration is used by you and anyone you want to give permission to view your site. The only content that can be added with this pass code is to leave messages and make selections from the wish list.
