Through A Child's Eyes

February 21st 2008

Today Lorien's little friend Amelia was visiting. "What colour are Amelia's eyes?" I asked Fenton. He peered closely and then answered "black". He had been looking at her pupils! "What other colour are they?" I asked. After some hesitation he answered "white". "Clever boy, can you see any other colours?" He looked closely at Amelia again. "Yes" he said "Blue!". It just goes to show that children can see things very differently to grown-ups!

Making Sentances!

February 17th 2008

Fenton is stringing more and more words together. The other day he spotted a dog walking in the park - "small, white dog" he said and today he said "small train, big train" with reference to his two Thomas the Tank Engine trains.

Happy Valentines Day!

February 14th 2008

Fenton was very excited to receive a Valentine's card in the post this morning! He pulled the card from the envelope and without even opening it he said "Katelyn!" excitedly!!! She must have told him she was sending him one!!!

Bye Bye.....

February 7th 2008

Today whilst walking back from the park we passed some traffic waiting at the traffic lights. "Bye bye car" Fenton suddenly said pointing at the first vehicle, a car. Then it was "bye bye van" to the van and "bye bye truck" to the truck. Next he said bye to the wall, the fence, the gate and also the "red car" parked in the street! Not sure why he's started saying "bye bye" to things in the street but it's very clever of him and very cute!

Magic results?

February 7th 2008

Today I walked into the front lounge to find Fenton had stripped off his trousers and nappy and he was putting "Magic Cream" on his bits! For those of you without kids, magic cream is a special cream to help clear up rashes and dry skin! Maybe he was trying to tell me something!

The Puzzle King!

February 5th 2008

Fenton can now do a 48-piece jigsaw puzzle although he got a bit bored doing the sky bit! Clever boy!

Weekend at Kirkconnell House

February 4th 2008

We've just spent 3 nights at Kirkconnell House for Fenton's Grandad's 60th bithday celebrations. Kirkconnell House is a fantastic old quirky 8-bedroomed house in New Abbey, Dumfries with 2 staircases and a games room. There were 9 adults and 6 children and Fenton loved chasing his older cousins up one staircase and down the next! A good weekend was had by all!!
